Women and the world of work: inequalities continue to exist

At school, girls are at the head of the class. In higher education, women make up the majority. And yet, in the world of work, women hold lower positions and earn lower salaries than men. In France, only four women currently head CAC 40 companies. Why do women lag so far behind when they enter the professional world? Are there any objective criteria to justify this gender gap? In this edition of ActuElles, Laure Manent puts the question to her guests, journalist Lucile Quillet, a specialist in women in the workplace and author of "Les méritantes, comment le monde du travail trahit les femmes" (published by Les liens qui libèrent, 2025) and immunology researcher Élise Bordet, co-founder of Club de Pouvoir, which helps women reach the highest corporate positions.
