Algeria "agrees" to pardon writer Boualem Sansal

French-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal, imprisoned for a year in Algeria and at the heart of a serious diplomatic crisis between Algiers and Paris, is to be pardoned and transferred to Germany, the Algerian presidency announced on Wednesday. French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu expressed his "relief".
