French media call for the release of Christophe Gleizes, journalist held in Algeria

A week ahead of his appeal trial, several French media outlets on Wednesday called for the release of journalist Christophe Gleizes, who was arrested during a report in Algeria and sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for "apologie du terrorisme". In a statement, they point out that despite "diplomatic tensions" between France and Algeria, freedom of the press "cannot be held hostage".
