On Thursday in the Alps, Emmanuel Macron presented a new French voluntary military service, longer and more militarized than the universal national service (SNU). This measure is designed to strengthen the armed forces in the face of growing Russian threats, and to create a pool of young people who can be mobilized in the event of war.
